Competencies for Independent Living Services

For Independent Living programs to be effective, emancipation activities for youth should be jointly planned and implemented by the youth's caseworker and the youth's foster caregiver, mentor family, or family members if youth live at home. 
 
This article addresses training needed for both caregivers and families of foster youth or youth in transistion facilities.
