Mission Statement
The purpose of Vozrozshdenya Church is to glorify God through exalting Him in public worship, evangelizing the lost, encouraging those in the faith, edifying Christian believers, and equipping them for effectual service for Christ.
Overview of Ministry Activity
Vozrozshdenya Church is a Russian Baptist church organized in 1968, in the city of Podol\'sk. Podol\'sk is located 45 minutes south of Moscow and has a population of 220,000. Of the three evangelical churches in Podol\'sk, Vozrozshdenya Church is the only non-Russian Orthodox church with their own building. The present church membership is 145 with regular Sunday attendance of 160.
Vozrozshdenya Church has an active ministry in the local children\'s home. The older children attend the church\'s summer youth camp and the weekly youth meeting on Saturday evenings at the youth center. The church facilitates humanitarian and financial aid for the children\'s home and for the local "baby house" in Podol\'sk. Leon Fisher (American youth pastor) contacts western organizations for help and encouragement for the two homes in Podol\'sk.
Church members tutor in the children\'s home weekly to prepare the children in three ways:
· To elevate them to the level of education for their age
· To prepare them to pass the ninth grade exams allowing them to go on to high school as opposed to a vocational school
· To prepare them to pass the entrance exams to a University after finishing high school
Plans and Goals
· To lead the children to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ
· To help prepare the children for a productive adult life
· To be a witness to the teachers and workers in both homes
· To show a testimony to the city so that others will desire to know the God we serve
The church is currently involved in buying an adjacent building that will be used as a youth center/learning center primarily for the children and teens of the children\'s home to further help them face the challenges of the real world. The youth center will also house a "Bible club" (AWANA) for younger children, especially those from the children\'s home.
