Overview of Ministry Activity

Called to Care... for Orphans is a component fund of the Community Foundation of Carroll County, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

C2C began in 2006 as a church-based ministry in central Maryland, focused on raising awareness of the needs of orphans and vulnerable children.  Volunteers have helped to expand the ministry to reach out to the larger faith community in Maryland.

C2C continues to raise awareness in the community about the needs of local children in foster care as well as orphans overseas.  We also offer support and guidance to help prospective adoptive families navigate the adoption process.  Our ministry supports local families participating in New Horizons for Children orphan hosting program - assisting with the application process, providing needed items for the children, hosting regional gatherings and promoting awareness of older child adoption.   Additionally, we support the church-based C2C ministry with their orphanage sponsorship in the Dominican Republic through Vision Trust International.

C2C has coordinated a Carroll County Orphan Ministry group made up of people/ministries from 10 area churches with a heart for orphans.  Our desire is to unite the body of Christ in a joint effort to speak up for the least of these.
