Mission Statement
To see God\'s glory coming across the nations
through the mobilizing and equipping of local churches
so that they can be salt of the earth and light of the world in their communities
through rescuing lost young people and kids at risk for Jesus Christ
Overview of Ministry Activity
Projects working with children-at-risk and teenagers have been growing since: 1995 in Ukraine, 1999 in Moldova, 2002 in Russia in Samara and St Petersburg. More recently, YFC teams have been able to appoint full-time staff in Samara and St Petersburg in Russia. From 2004, we have begun partnering with the existing YFC team in Slovakia. We have also been asked to pioneer YFC projects in 4 new countries Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, and Georgia.
In each country there are 2 aspects to the work -
- youth ministry
- children-at-risk ministry
We have just been purchasing some properties throughout Moldova for use as Day Centres; the Ukrainian team are looking for larger office premises in Kiev, while seeking to establish a presence in each of Ukraine’s 26 regions; Russia is a massive country and there is much scope for the Good News throughout this great landmass.
The YFC teams seek to spread the love of Jesus by working especially with vulnerable children and young people.
As well as running day centres and social-work-based family liaison, the teams operate after-schools clubs, as well as a vibrant sports ministry (with local Christian football leagues) and also make wide use of music and drama as part of their outreach.
Our main strategy is to equip the church.
