Mission Statement
“Committed to finding the best lifetime solution for each child.” - Dillon International, Inc., is committed to providing the best possible lifetime of care for homeless children in developing countries. Every effort is made for children to remain with their original family or to be placed for adoption within their country of birth. When these options are not possible, children are placed with families in the United States and on-going, post-adoptive support is provided for the life of each child.
Dillon International, Inc., is also committed to assisting with foster and orphanage care as well as with educational, medical and therapeutic services for the homeless children remaining in other countries who may never be adopted.
Overview of Ministry Activity
Dillon International, Inc., is a private, licensed, non-profit adoption agency specializing in international adoption. Dillon International was founded in 1972 to meet the needs of the thousands of homeless Korean orphans. It was the first licensed international adoption agency in Oklahoma.
Since then, the agency has been actively involved in establishing inter-country adoption standards and policies in the United States and abroad. Dillon International has helped to establish adoption programs in several countries including a model foster care program in Korea. Each participating country has invited Dillon International to help find homes for their homeless children.
Highly regarded among State Department and adoption officials in Washington, D.C., Dillon International is one of the most respected international adoption agencies in this country and internationally. Adoption specialists throughout the United States and in other countries have requested Dillon International’s advice and training in adoption and multi-cultural issues.
Over 5,500 children from developing countries have been placed by Dillon International with loving, adoptive families in the United States. Several hundred additional children have been placed with families in their country of birth as a result of Dillon’s efforts. In addition, Dillon International has helped to build hospitals, orphanages and schools in Korea, India, China, and Vietnam.
Dillon International has continued to help children who may never be adopted. Funds are raised to provide education, foster homes, orphanage care, medical services and therapy for “special needs” children in these developing countries.
