Mission Statement
As the hands of Christ, Glory Mountain Ministry actively and joyfully seeks to do the will of God through prayer, support, nurturing and reaching out to the needy children and their families of the Ukraine.
Overview of Ministry Activity
Since 1998 Glory Mountain Ministry has worked with orphans, invalid children and children and their families with greatest needs within the Mukachevo Region. We work with the children of several orphanages, support a Christian summer camp, assist with clothing and food for street children in Mukachevo. We provide housing for five orphans in a transitional period after the internot.
Plans and Goals
There are over 100 street children living in Mukachevo. One boy, 13, lives under the bridge. Many children are graduating from the internots with no place to live. With the ever increasing number of children at risk, who have no parental guidance, we are seeking to buy property in a neighboring village of Lofky and, as funds allow, to build a group of foster care cottages to house these children. Plans are to hire Christian foster parents to care for these children. Eventually, we plan to provide opportunities for learning a trade. Also, we are working on a project to open a bakery in a local invalid center to provide work, with an income, for some of these children.
