Overview of Ministry Activity
East European Harvest began after the founder Rev. Paul E. Lemons visited Christians inside the Soviet Union. Burdened by the need of his Christian brothers and sisters for Bibles but knowing they would have to be smuggled into communist lands, Rev. Lemons began printing and binding tiny Russian New Testaments the size of postage stamps, so small they had to be distributed with magnifying glasses. Once the Iron Curtain fell, printing switched from tiny to large print for the elderly or those with poor eyesight, along with illustrated New Testaments as well, especially popular with children. East European Harvest continues to bind New Testaments in Russian and in Romanian.
