Debra and Alan Jones, married for 32 years, are the proud parents a biological daughter, an internationally adopted son, and a great son-in-law. For years, these educators felt overwhelmed and ill equipped to manage the maladaptive behaviors of their son, Dane, who suffered from Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, lead toxicity, and severe neglect in a Romanian orphanage.

Through a rich partnership with researchers at Texas Christian University’s Institute of Child Development, they found life-changing answers. Debra, who holds a Masters in Education, has over twenty years of experience with special needs children. She now works as an associate of the Institute teaching Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®).

Together Alan and Debra lead their own business, Parenting Adoptees Can Trust (PACT). PACT offers education, support and research-based strategies to help parents of foster, adoptive, and at-risk children build better relationships with their child. Alan has truly had an impact on many dads who now embrace TBRI®.

Alan and Debra live in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and travel throughout the U.S. and Canada helping parents. Learn about  their speaking topics and In-home Intensive Interventions at www.parentingadopteescantrust.com

Angie Proctor, MSMFT, LCDC, is a wife, a mom to two biological children, and has worked with at-risk children and teens since 2001.

She is currently teaching as an adjunct instructor, and completing her PhD in Educational Psychology at Texas A&M University in Commerce, TX. Her research on trauma and the educational needs of harmed children will be instrumental in bringing more training and successful interventions to the classroom.

Angie has extensive experience in a residential group home where she served as the Therapeutic Services Director as well as Residential Care Director. The facility served children placed from Child Protective Services, and through private families, including some from failed adoptions. Most of the children served had experienced deep trauma as well as attachment and developmental issues.

Since 2008, Angie has been involved with Dr. Purvis and Dr. Cross at The Institute of Child Development at Texas Christian University. She currently serves as an associate of the institute as a presenter and trainer for TBRI®. Angie has devoted her life and education to helping children who come from traumatic backgrounds.

Angie lives in East Texas and is also willing to travel to meet the needs of hurting families through PACT.

Tammy Winkler is a physical therapist, a wife of 30 years, and a mom to 3 biological children and 4 children adopted through foster care. Her children range in age from 18 – 28 years old so she knows the ropes when it comes to overcoming teen challenges with kids from hard places.

Tammy has a beautiful testimony with a troubled adopted son that gives hope and assurance to parents that it is never too late for a trust-based relationship. Tammy fell in love with the work of Drs. Karyn Purvis and David Cross at the Institute of Child Development at Texas Christian University and is a certified TBRI® trainer.

Her knowledge and expertise have enabled her to help many families in her church and community who have adopted children from hard places.

Tammy resides in Carroll, Ohio, and loves God, loves her family, and loves reading, gardening, and FUN. She is ready to see the world as the newest traveling member of the PACT parent trainer team.
